Juliana Starbuck grew up in the world of equestrian sports, learning to ride at a premiere family owned facility in Connecticut. After graduating from Ridgefield High School, she attended Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia, earning her Masters in Health Sciences in 1997. Riding was never absent from Ms. Starbuck’s life, however. She was a member of Lynchburg College’s acclaimed equestrian team, winning the 1995 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone finals.

Beginning in pony, beginners, and children’s divisions, Juliana Starbuck moved into junior competition in her early teems. In 1991, at age 15, she won the Connecticut State Finals. She continued her successes, competing successfully at the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Medal Finals and the ASPCA Maclay Finals, both at Madison Square Garden. Juliana Starbuck was the only junior rider in the United States to be in the top six placings at all the national equitation finals.

After college, Juliana Starbuck returned to the equestrian profession, competing as an adult. She enjoyed consistent success on the Grand Prix jumping circuit, and successfully represented the state of Connecticut in the 2000 Olympic Show Jumping Selection Trials, reaching the final selection trial. Along with her successes in jumpers’ competitions, she continues to be nationally ranked in the top ten in the four-foot hunter division. Ms. Starbucks has competed in the national finals for the last three years running.

Training horses and instructing students, go hand-in-hand in English-style riding. Juliana Starbuck is widely recognized as a top rider and trainer, demonstrating the best attributes in horsemanship, bringing the next generation of riders up through the various levels of competition, and running a top-tier facility that offers lessons, boarding, schooling shows, summer camp and birthday parties. Starbuck Equestrian is conveniently located just an hour from New York City, in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Ms. Starbuck owns and runs the barn in partnership with sister Amanda. Juliana Starbuck looks forward to continuing a successful family tradition.
